2011 Roth Sauvignon Blanc
Another year of extremes...the 2011 vintage began with early spring rains in Sonoma County. The aromatics and structure of this wine have been supplemented by the addition of 5% Viognier, which also contributes a distinct aroma of fresh cut flowers. Lemon zest and tropical fruits are accented by bright, focused acidity and lingering minerality. Beautiful notes of grapefruit, pear and apple lead to a pure, crisp and juicy finish.
2011 Bernardus Sauvignon Blanc
2011 was an excellent growing year on the Central Coast, with moderate, warm weather. The vibrant aromas exhibit notes of peach, melon and grapefruit along with hints of fresh grass and flint. The flavors are crisp and intense, showing complex essences of lime, grapefruit and gooseberry, accented by mineral notes and a refreshing acidity. 30% of the wine is fermented in neutral French oak, contributing a richness and complexity that lingers on the palate.
2012 Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc
Rutherford, Napa Valley
The nearly picture perfect growing conditions of this vintage coupled with the talent of winemakers John Williams and Paula Moschetti have produced a stellar offering from Frog’s Leap in 2012. The slate and minerality typical of Frog’s Leap Sauvignon Blanc is all there in spades and anchors the wine in its Rutherford roots. Also detectable is a refreshing and fruity hint of white peach and lychee that only show in the best years and complements the bracing acidity of the wine.
